News - Formula Renault Testing

On Wednesday 30th January, Jordan had his first outing in a car since the Formula BMW World Final in November 2007. However this test was a very different occasion for the Tavistock youngster, now racing in the ice cold English winter weather instead of sunny Spain. Arriving at Snetterton in Norfolk, Jordan was today testing a Formula Renault for the first time. A much faster car that he had ever driven. The task given to him by his dad was to be near the pace of the frontrunners by the end of the day. After a successful first season in single seaters in Formula BMW, Jordan quickly transferred his driving talents to the Formula Renault car and was soon on the pace by lunchtime. By the end of the day Jordan was lapping very consistently, matching the quickest time set on the day by many seasoned front running Formula Renault Drivers. This was quite impressive to be able to get accustomed to the Renault’s extra grip and power in a limited time.

Jordan said: "I think today has been really successful. I have proved that what the ever the car, I can get onto the pace very quickly. The car is a lot faster than the Formula BMW and it was very noticeable at the start of the day. But by the time I got past lunch the speed became natural and I am looking forward to the next opportunity I get to go out again."

Unconfirmed to any series yet for the 2008 season, Jordan is hopeful that within the next week he can tie up the sponsorship deals he needs to get him on a single seater grid for the 2008 season.
