On the 14th December Jordan travelled to Donington Park to test a Formula BMW car for the first time since the Formula BMW scholarship in 2005. It was also his first test day with his new team, Team Loctite.
Team Loctite prepared and provided two cars to test during the day, back to back. The whole ran smoothly with a good relaxed atmosphere, with Team boss Trevor Powell present and three mechanics, Richard, James and Joe.
Jordan took it steady for the first few sessions to adapt to the change from Junior Ginetta to Formula BMW with several relaxed sessions in the morning of about 80 laps, after lunchtime Jordan concentrated on stepping up the lap times continuing continuously. Jordan did this to great acclaim pleasing Team boss Trevor as he was right on the pace of two very experienced and well respected drivers from the series this year.
Obviously there is still a lot to be learnt but Jordan came away from the circuit feeling confident knowing that nothing had been changed on the cars and the team could give lots more in the way of setup and that his confidence in driving the car will only improve as he gains more experience.
Jordan said:
Today was really good and I enjoyed it very much. I cant wait to get back out in the car and step it up again because today was only a taster and I am not even close to the limit of which I want to reach before the season starts.
Jordan hopes to test on Monday 18th December at Brands Hatch.
