News - Brands Hatch Media Day

On the Thursday proceeding the first rounds of the Formula BMW UK 2007 Championship the official launch of the championship took place at Brands Hatch. With championship ambassador Nigel Mansell in attendance, the day was a good opportunity for Jordan to widen his media skills with numerous newspaper, magazine and radio interviews. After a drive round the circuit with the "Class of 2007" (the other drivers) and Nigel Mansell in a yellow school bus it was time to start the media duties. The highlight of the day was two radio broadcasts with Mr Mansell to BBC Radio Devon and Plymouth Sound. In each broadcast Jordan was praised by the 1992 Formula 1 world champion, Mansell commented, "There is no better stepping-stone for Jordan than this series. Rookie drivers get the perfect introduction into the world of motorsport and that is what is needed to progress."<

Jordan added: " I never thought that one day I would be sitting alongside a great British Formula one hero like Nigel Mansell, let alone doing a radio interview with him. The day went very well and I got plenty of press exposure which is always handy! To be praised by a driver like Nigel Mansell was fantastic and hopefully I can continue my racing further than this first stepping stone on the way to the top."

Jordan continues his racing duties on the 11th April with an official test at the Thruxton circuit in Hampshire.
